Living a Happier Life

So I watched a Ted Talks episode recently about happiness and it really stuck with me.

It was with Jane Mcgonigal who has developed an app called Super Better and she believes that by playing video or computer games you can actually add 10 years to your life.

Gaming improves your quality of life by strengthening 4 real attributes and changing the way you live.

She talks about a survey of elderly people which showed their top 5 biggest regrets in life and how gaming can help you live a happier life and come to the end satisfied and have no regrets.

The Top 5 Regrets of the Dying were:

  • I wish I had not spent so much time working
  • I wish I had stayed in touch with my friends
  • I wish I had let myself be happier
  • I wish I had the courage to express my true self
  • I wish I had lived a life true to my dreams, instead of what others expected of me

So I may not be a big gamer, I play the usual Facebook games like Candy Crush and occasionally a playstation game but this just made me think about how I want to live my life. I don’t want to have any regrets when I am old and at the end of my life. I want to have lived a full, fun, true to myself life. I hope everyone else sees the value in this as well!
